New Annabelle, Untitled.

OK, so maybe the header of this site should read something like, 'averaging a drawing a day.' Anyway, here's a cranky little drawing, and the first new drawings of Annabelle, as per her new corrections. I would post her comments here, but my printer is broken and I haven't figured out how to save her email as a jpeg file. I need to manipulate the image so it blacks out her email address... She's already got a perfectly good internet stalker, thank you very much. Cheers, P

I think maybe I should junk the upper/left margins of the drawing and make THIS into a painting. Much better, I think.

I missed my deadline yesterday, so today there are two drawings. One is an elaboration on a doodle I did during Amy Sillman's talk at Columbia. The other is a version of a one-note joke painting I started two years ago but never finished; basically a painting that I made while pretending to be a sulking fifteen-year-old girl. On second thought, maybe I AM a sulking fifteen-year old girl.

Here's a bunch of doodles I did at Michael Krebber's lecture at Columbia last week. Michael Krebber, who inspires me to ask, 'How can I do less?' Well I did fuck-all today, which is why I am submitting last week's doodles. Maybe tomorrow I'll buckle down and make something halfway decent. Till then.

Re-Do

Well, I just got the Xeric Grant for self-published comics. Unfortunately, they're real picky about how the money is spent, so no European vacation for me. But it does mean I'll get to print a somewhat more sturdy version of my comic. I'm also going to redesign the cover. Does anyone have a good idea for the cover? The above drawing is NOT a candidate.

My favorite thing to do is spend a lot of time fussing over a piece, just to do something stupid to it at the last minute. I don't know if I finish things so much as I disavow them. Anyway, it occurred to me that I have a whole thirty pages of anal-retentive comic book illustrations that are begging to be covered in stupid shit. So I'll be making these for a little while.

Nothing is Fucking Easy....

An attempt to update my operating system resulted, predictably, in calamity. Computer will be int the shop for the next few days. Jesus Christ I hate machines.
